The record of number of welded joints in a single day is achieved in the South Trunk Pipeline project.

Shengli Oil Engineering & Construction Co. broke the record of welded joints in a single day by completing 46 joints in the South Trunk Pipeline project (dia.1219mm) in Shandong Province. Customer achieved this number by using Xionggu pipeline automatic welding machine spreads.

There are two Xionggu pipeline automatic welding machine spreads are being used in the project including 2 pcs of internal welding machine, 20 pcs of A-610 dual torch external welding machines and 32 pcs single torch external welding machine. Technicians from Xionggu Electrical worked with operators from customer’s company to achieve this record which was done by one spread of Xionggu pipeline automatic welding machine including 1 pc of internal welding machine and 10 pcs of dual torch external welding machines.

The South Trunk Pipeline of Shandong pipeline network is 493 km long, with a design pressure of 10 MPa. The annual gas transmission capacity of the phase 1 is 9.6 billion cubic meters. The pipeline will effectively connect Sinopec's existing pipeline network in Shandong Province, Shandong coastal LNG terminal resources and other gas transmission pipelines in the province, and realize the interconnection of multiple resources and pipelines.

The south Trunk Natural Gas Pipeline project started on March 31st, 2021. Facing challenge of tight construction period and heavy tasks, Shengli Oil Engineering & Construction Co. established a team of professional operators of pipeline automatic welding machines, the operators have been well trained for many times with skills of efficiently operating pipeline automatic welding machine before the beginning of this project. Moreover, pipeline welding machines are well prepared. Both of them are bound to make a good job of the construction in the project.
