Xionggu Automatic Welding Machine Participates in Offshore Pipeline Project

Xionggu automatic welding machines have been applied in offshore pipeline project for the first time. It is also the beginning of a new journey for Xionggu staff. We are facing a complex offshore environment which is different from onshore environment. The influence of pipe laying vessel's shaking during making pipe joints and the influence of ocean climate on the welding parameters can’t be ignored.

Due to the high daily operation cost of the vessel and in order to minimizeexpenditures of the client, it took 3 days for Xionggu staff to assemble and test pipeline automatic welding machine, the full spread of internal welding machine and dual torch external welding machines were put into operation in 6thOctober, 2019.

Since there is limited welding stations on the vessel (3 welding stations), all staff members worked hard and finished welding of 3.6km pipeline in more than 10 days. Qualified rate of welded pipe joints is 95.7%, 32 pipe joints were welded per day (32 joints day shift, 32 joints night shift). It is the end of the project, but it is a milestone for Xionggu pipeline automatic welding machine in offshore project. We believe that in the near future, Xionggu pipeline automatic welding machine will become popular brand of welding machine in offshore projects just like our achievements in onshore projects.
