Xionggu Automatic Welding Machine Empowers Tuojiang Tunnel

The Tuojiang Tunnel Project, as a crucial control project of the regional energy corridor, holds significant strategic importance. This project is a large-scale crossing project across the Tuojiang River waters, undertaken by Sichuan Petroleum and Natural Gas Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sichuan Oil Construction"). Its design flood frequency adheres to the high standard of a once-in-a-century event, which fully demonstrates the project's unwavering pursuit of rigor and high quality in construction.

The crossing section of the project extends from pile AB099 to pile AC002. Among them, the tunnel crossing and compensation section (from pile AB099#1 to pile AC001#2) has a horizontal length of approximately 1,302.9 meters and an actual length of 1,347.74 meters. The pipeline is designed with a pressure of 10 MPa and a diameter of 1,016 millimeters, utilizing L485M straight-seam submerged arc welded steel pipes. Specifically, the straight pipes and cold bends have a specification of D1016mm×21mm, while the hot bends have a specification of D1016mm×26.2mm.

The project is scheduled to commence on September 14, 2025, and conclude on December 20 of the same year. The welding crew began operations on October 10 and successfully completed all welding tasks inside the tunnel by November 18, with a total of 135 welds accomplished. The entire welding process employed Xionggu automatic welding machines, utilizing the gas tungsten arc welding process (A-305T for root pass and A-305 for fill and cap passes). The high-precision automated operation of these machines served as the core support for ensuring welding quality and efficiency, providing crucial technical backing for welding tasks under the complex conditions inside the tunnel.

To guarantee welding quality, all welds passed dual inspections through AUT (Ultrasonic Testing) and DR (Digital Radiography). This outstanding achievement is attributed to the stable performance and precise process control of the Xionggu fully automatic welding equipment. Its automated welding technology effectively minimized human operational errors. Meanwhile, Xionggu's technical service personnel provided round-the-clock tracking services, even arriving at the site in the middle of the night for equipment maintenance, ensuring the consistency and reliability of weld quality from the source and laying a solid foundation for the subsequent safe operation of the pipeline.

The smooth implementation of the Tuojiang Tunnel Project will significantly enhance the regional energy transmission capacity, injecting a strong and sustained impetus into local economic development.
