Xionggu Pipeline Automatic Welding Equipment: New Terrain, New Challenge

Hebei North China Oil Engineering Construction Co., Ltd. G504 complex of the 4thlot of the middle section of the 3rdWest to East Gas Pipeline arrived at the construction site on February 6th, 2023, and then completed the assembly of the pipeline automatic welding equipment. According to the arrangement of the project department, the G504 complex will be mainly responsible for mountain welding after Chinese traditional new year holiday. In response to the differences between project in mountains and plains, Xionggu technical service team members will carefully make up welding plans, with a particular focus on optimizing welding parameters. After installing the equipment, a power-on test machine was conducted, and after the test machine was normal, a welding test with a slope of 15 degrees was simulated.

During the welding process, Xionggu technical service team promptly discovered the differences between the welding in mountain area and the plain area, and coordinated with the project department and the welding complex to correct the shielding gas ratio and parameters as soon as possible. After two rounds of debugging, all welded joints were qualified, and the welding complex started working smoothly.

Project Overview: The 4thlot of the Zhongwei Zaoyang section of the Middle Section (Zhongwei Ji'an) of the 3rdWest East Gas Pipeline Project is located in Zhenyuan County, Qingyang City, Gansu Province, Jingchuan County, and Lingtai County in Pingliang City. The entire length of the pipeline is 162.76km, with a diameter of 1219mm, wall thickness of 18.4mm and 22mm, a design pressure of 10MPa, and a material of L555M (X80M).
